iPad 3 Won’t Make Its Debut In January 2012

The iPad 3 will not be making a launch in January 2012 as has been widely publicized in the tech arena. Digitimes was among the first to report that the iPad 3 will be making a release in January. As it has been the case with many of the rumors coming out from Digitimes, iPad 3 releasing in Jan 2012 doesn’t look promising. Apple insiders and some big time analyst’s of reputed companies are completely denying this and they are hinting at a February – March release instead.

iPad 3 will not be having 2 variants

It was only on Saturday that the report of an iPad 3 release in 2 different variants was out. This time too, it was Digitimes coming out with this report. Although I had posted that piece of news on iPad3latest with some apprehension; it seems that my apprehension were not wrong. It was reported that the iPad 3 will make its debut with Apple showing the first glimpses at the iWorld 2012 event in January.

Apple has not been to this event for the past 2 years. The report of an early iPad 3 release were denied by Apple insiders and trade analyst’s alike. Jim Dalrymple of “The Loops” reported the rumors from Digitmes to be completely false and baseless after confirming it with his sources at Apple.

When will the iPad 3 release then?

There are also some rumors that the iPad 3 will release on February 24,2012 which happens to be late Steve Jobs birthday. Feb 24 is a candidate for iPad 3 release. When I says candidate, I mean that a late March or early April launch of the iPad 3 cannot be denied completely. With some major problems at some of the factories supplying iPad 3 parts, it makes sense for a delayed iPad 3 launch. Moving forward, we will always have to take all the rumors surrounding iPad 3 with a pinch of salt; there will always be some hits and some misses.

iPad 3 In 2 Variants – No iPad Mini!

Digitimes is at it again. With a slew of rumors regarding the iPad mini along with the iPad 3, we now have Digitimes coming out with another piece of news. There won’t be any iPad Mini come 2012! After raising the hopes of many a people with a tiny version of the iPad, they are letting everyone down by saying that iPad mini is not on Apple’s agenda for 2012. This piece of news complements an earlier article on iPad3latest, where we had said that Apple have been testing different screen sizes for long and this was probably just a prototype.

iPad 3 to come in 2 avatars

Although there won’t be an iPad mini in the offing, Digitimes was quick to add that there will be 2 variants of the iPad 3. Both the variants will feature a 9.7 inch screen. Of course Digitimes claims that the news comes from Apple’s supply chain partners. But again, what will be the difference between the iPad 3 variants is still unknown. The easiest guess would be that the iPad 3 variants will differ in hardware specifications. But then this has never been the strategy of Apple so far.

iPad 2 to sell along the iPad 3

Digitimes also cited that iPad 2 will sell alongside the iPad 3 and it will be a direct competition to Amazon’s Kindle fire. Well this seemed obvious, Apple always cuts down on prices with new product launches. The iPad 2 can be sold at a price of somewhere between $300 and $350. This price is still higher than the Kindle Fire’s price, but still such a low pricing will get people thinking before they opt for any inexpensive tablet.

But the surprising thing to notice is that the iPad 3 will come in 2 variants. If one version is superior than the other, then obviously one will be costly than the other. If this is the scenario than where does iPad 2 stands? Maybe Apple will go for drastic reduction in pricing of the iPad 2 and even sell it for $200 or $250.

iPad 3 Launch Will Not Stop Release Of Facebook Timeline

It seems that Facebook is in a hurry to get its much acclaimed Timeline feature on the iPad. iPad 3 is slated to release somewhere in early 2012. One would have expected the Facebook Timeline to make its debut after the iPad 3 launch, but Facebook is going to launch the timeline feature pretty soon. The Facebook app was to be integrated with Timeline this month, but with a multitude of bugs hampering the Timeline integration; Facebook pushed the launch a further one month away.

This report comes from 9to5mac which cites unnamed sources to come out with this news. Timeline is a new Facebook feature that gives your profile page a 360 degree change. The timeline feature allows your profile page to be a page where you can literally put up your life. You can put up some fixed images, facebook apps, what you like reading about and anything else that you want the world to know about you.

Timeline has been available on the PC and MAC platform for quite some time and was expected to come on the iPad 3. Timeline is also available for Smart phones. But the touch optimized Facebook Timeline feature is coming out earlier and the existing app will be upgraded with Timeline by next month.

iPad 3 to be a social network savvy tablet

With the social networking buzz around the internet, the iPad 3 is going to be social network friendlier than ever. Apple will surely like to ride this wave with the iPad 3. It is also said that other social networking biggies will also make a major overhaul in their existing apps for the iPad 3. iPad 3 is going to be one tablet that will be heavy on providing a richer experience overall.
